AUDITIONS
Heather MacTavish will be directing Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean by Ed Graczyk, to be staged at the Conservatorium of Music Theatre on Wednesday 5th, Thursday 6th, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th September, with a matinee on Saturday 8th.
The play revolves around the reunion of a group of old friends who once called themselves the Disciples of James Dean. Twenty years ago they were an excited group of high school graduates who eagerly anticipated their hero's arrival in a nearby town to film Giant. As the story unfolds, they have gathered at the local five and dime store in Marfa, Texas, to share fond memories of their youthful passion for the doomed actor - but dark secrets from the past are revealed which threaten to ruin their reunion.
Parts required are one female (60s) and 6 females (30s to 40s). Anyone interested in auditioning should come along to the small Assembly Hall at the Central State School on Alfred Street (entry from Nelson Street) at 2pm on Sunday 20th May.
