IT'S MY PARTY (AND I'LL DIE IF I WANT TO)
Ron Patterson has 111 minutes to live, so he decides to invite the kids around for sausage rolls, Saladas and a bit of quality time. As he attempts to tie up the loose ends of his life, all the juicy neuroses of this very dysfunctional family come out of the closet, and his well planned last party starts to unravel. It's My Party (And I'll Die If I Want To), by Australian playwright Elizabeth Coleman (who also wrote Secret Bridesmaids' Business) is an excellent black comedy that keeps the surprises coming until the very end - and it's coming to Kucom in November!
Director Jim Kelly will be holding auditions for It's My Party (And I'll Die If I Want To) on Sunday 29 August at the Kucom Playhouse starting at 2pm. Audition scripts and application forms are now available, just phone us on 0408 980 022 or send us an e-mail.
DEATH IN THE LIMELIGHT
Death in the Limelight, Kucom's Youth Theatre production for 2010, is a play that delves behind the scenes of a talent quest television show, exposing the over inflated egos, fierce ambitions and secret heartaches of the presenters, judges and crew. Add to this some espionage, a murder mystery, a paranoid police inspector, and a series of contestants who forgot that ‘talent’ is usually a requirement to enter a talent quest, and the results are hilarious!
Death in the Limelight will be performed in The Space at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre in September (see Events at a glance, below, for dates). Bookings through the MECC Box Office.

2011 SEASON
With the sale of the old Kucom Playhouse in Shakespeare Street now a reality, we're looking around for a new venue. Thanks to the generosity of purchaser John Glanville, we have use of the building until the end of 2011, so we want to make next year really special.
The Committee is now looking for plays and directors for the 2011 season, and would welcome any suggestions as to what our final four Shakespeare Street productions should be. Maybe some classics from the early days? All constructive ideas welcome, just phone us on 0408 980 022 or send us an e-mail with your ideas.
